jewellery care

1. How to wear it?

We are obsessed by QUALITY. But you know how it works, proper care and maintenance will keep your jewellery beautiful. Here are the basic tips to keep your jemocracy working well - because we want you to get the most wear out of it:

• Always protect your jewellery from knocks, scratches, chemicals (bleach, nail remover, ...).

• We recommend removing your jewellery when you shower or bathe particularly in chlorinated water or the ocean.

• Avoid spraying perfume or applying creams directly onto your jewellery.

• Keep away from extreme temperatures, humidity and sunlight.

2. How to store it?
Ideally always in its original case, or in a suitable lined box or pouch when you do not wear it. To avoid scratches, each piece of jewellery should be stored separately and bracelets should always be stored flat. To avoid accelerated tarnishing always store your jewellery in the special pouches provided.

3. How to clean 18k and 14k Gold?
Most gold jewellery can be safely cleaned with a non-abrasive jewellery cleaner. Always rinse completely and blot dry with a chamois cloth. Never use creamy jewellery cleaners on gold as they may be containing harsh abrasives that will scratch the surface of the jewellery.

4. How to clean Silver?
Silver jewellery will naturally tarnish over time, however silver that is regularly used generally needs less care. Sterling Silver is a precious metal and may require cleaning from time to time.
Using a soft, lint free cloth is an effective way to keep silver looking shiny and lustrous. A silver cleaner can also be used to clean sterling silver pieces. Ideally, store silver pieces in an airtight bag to help reduce tarnishing. Do not use tissue paper or paper towels to clean metal as they can cause scratching.

5. How to take care of Gemstones?
Gemstones are usually quite delicate. So avoid hot water, harsh chemicals and cleaners - at all times. Simply use a clean, soft, damp cloth after wearing your gemstones pieces. Very porous stones such as turquoise or pearls should be cleaned using an untreated, dry, soft cloth only. Do not use tissue paper or paper towels to clean gemstones as they can cause scratching. Same as above, please don't let the stones come in contact with creams, ammoniated liquid, nail polish remover or chlorinated water (swimming pools, etc.).

We propose cleaners on our Shop page.

6. How to take care of Leather?
Avoid contact with water or other liquids. If your leather bracelet gets dirty, you can clean it with saddle soap and treat it with commercial beeswax polish.
